Thomasina Winslow: Guestbook

I heard about Thomasina Winslow only by accident and I can testify - judging only by the handful of recordings she made - that she looks like a major country blues singer and guitariste. She certainly deserves more limelights and records. She is in the league of excellent contemporary country blues artists like Guy Davis or Alvin Hart who manage to maintain in their work the authenticity of the glorious past of the true tradition of the country blues

I have been looking around www.thomasinawinslow.com and actually am impressed by the good content material here. I work the nightshift at my job and it is boring. I've been coming right here for the past couple nights and reading. I just needed to let you know that I've been enjoying what I've seen and I look forward to reading more.

Hi Thomasina,
I just listened to the samples of your songs. It's been a long time since I've heard your voice (beautiful as always, by the way!), but your words and your lessons have echoed in my heart all these years since my St. Anne's days. You taught me how to find my voice through music and helped me find the confidence to use it and for that I will be eternally grateful. And now, as I remember back to your dream of sharing your music throughout the world, you have taught me that achieving your dreams is very possible. Next time you find yourself in the Capital District, look me up. Take care and congratulations on your success!
Love and thanks,
Erin Fitzmaurice

Hello Thomasina,
I discovered your music via an embedded Youtube video on The Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum. I've since had the pleasure of listening to your performances of Mississippi Blues and Moon's Goin' Down, also on Youtube. Wonderful stuff, a real joy to listen to. I hope you and Nick Katzman can put together a CD. Thanks for the wonderful music.

Yes, I am on my own guestbook, but think of it as a meet and greet.
I just want to thank you all for your words of appreciation for the blues, and my performance of it.
I look forward to seeing you at upcoming gigs. I am also grateful for the current spike of success from YouTube. For those of you who have been my students, thank you for your words. "Keep on keeping on" I am proud to have been your teacher. If you have not heard of the YouTube 'happening' go to my article "Getting Rowdy" on our NEWS page. Happy listening.
Best,

Hi, Tomasina:
I first learned about you while trying to find more about your dad, Tom Winslow. I saw him at the Troy Farmers Market, and asked him if he taught. And he said just his kids. So, I discovered you. Hope you teach Deep Blues guitar. I am just now learning, but hope to study with someone like you in a year or so. Thanks, Jeff

Heeyy!! Your name ain't James... You know the rest (inside joke). Anyway, just wanted to congratulate you on your success. I remember back in school at TCJA when your father came in and played music for us. You followed his footsteps very well. I took a look at your links and you appear to be doing it all. As a distant friend, I want to say that I am very proud and happy of you!
